The masterclass is aimed at anyone approaching musical composition, providing a valuable set of information and essential tools to undertake writing for images with awareness, mastery and knowledge of the working environment not only from a musical-theoretical point of view, but also from a practical and technical one. It offers cues to carry out the activity in the most correct, effective and efficient way, while giving an overview of the whole system of relationships that involves the composer in their work, including possible traps and likely pitfalls.
The importance of audiovisual media in today's entertainment and the plurality of instruments and styles used, together with their innovation, make composition for images increasingly central to those who love to write music.
It therefore becomes essential to understand how and why one writes for images, with which languages and which codes. What are the secrets that allow one to enter the minds and hearts of people.
An iconic element of the musicROOMS at BASE Milano, a multi-purpose cultural center in the Navigli/Tortona area, La Capsula of Music Innovation Hub is the venue for our course, both inside the acoustically treated and equipped room and in the small adjoining amphitheatre with the grand piano at its centre.

The program is developed over 10 sessions held three times a week. For attendance, participants are required to have a computer, a hard drive for samples, an installed DAW and a mini MIDI keyboard. Recommended: a laptop, the Composercloud+ (EDU) from East West Sounds and possibly an external audio interface since practical exercises as well as theoretical ones will be carried out.
The educational path aims to provide the basic tools of applied musical communication and the instruments for generating meaning through music and sound, also thanks to the development of a musical piece on stage guided by the instructors. The course provides the acquisition of basic knowledge related to optimal sound management, which allows orienting the sonic construction of the piece most effectively through the sound processing tools already present and available in every DAW.

Has written scores for films such as "How to Grow Up Despite Your Parents" (Walt Disney), "Just a Father", and "Fukushima: A Nuclear Story", a documentary film narrated by Willem Dafoe; he has received nominations for the "David di Donatello Award" (the Italian Academy Award) and the Nastri d'Argento awards. He has composed for many international campaigns for important brands such as Mulino Bianco Barilla, Calzedonia, and Fiat. He won the "Key Award" in 2019 with "In the Magic Wood", the soundtrack for Edison Energia's advertising campaign, and in 2012 with "Lovely On My Hand", the original song, soundtrack of Calzedonia's international campaign with Julia Roberts.
He has conducted over 30 operas in Italy, Austria, Canada, the Czech Republic, Switzerland, Romania, Kazakhstan, Ukraine, Albania, Macedonia, and Bulgaria. After composing music for nearly twenty theatrical productions, documentary scores, and primetime television shows, he has composed film scores such as Donato Carrisi's "The Girl in the Fog" starring Toni Servillo and Jean Reno, "Into the Labyrinth" starring Toni Servillo and Dustin Hoffman, "I Am the Abyss", all films with worldwide distribution. He is also an arranger and orchestrator in the pop and rock field with numerous productions to his credit with internationally renowned artists.
Orchestrator and composer, he holds degrees in Orchestral Conducting from the Conservatory of Parma, in Opera Conducting from the Regia Accademia Filarmonica di Bologna, and in Piano from the Conservatory of Verona. He has worked as an orchestrator and conductor with Fabrizio Campanelli and the Czech National Symphony Orchestra, the Budapest Symphony Orchestra, the Czech Virtuosi of Brno, the Accademia Vivaldiana of Venice, the Haydn Konservatorium of Eisenstadt, the Orchestra Classica of Alessandria, the Coro "Marc'Antonio Ingegneri", and the Accademia Dodekachordon of Verona.
